With reference to your Despatch No. 45 of the

20th. February, 1915, enclosing a copy of a letter from Lessrs.

Tootal Broadhurst Lee Company Limited to the Commercial Intelli-

-gence Branch of the Board of Trade, I have the honour to enclose

copies of letters which have passed relating to the appointment

of Mr. W. G. Worcester as liquidator and to his carrying on

business on his own account.

From this correspondence it will be seen that

Mr. Worcester is carrying on a new business and has not bought the

trade marks or goodwill of Lessrs. Garrels, Borner and Company.

Permission to engage in such business had to be obtained by Mr.

Worcester on account of the provisions of section 6 of the Alien

Enemies (Winding up) Ordinance, 1914.

Hr. Worcester is therefore entitled to carry on

business on his own account with fire with whom Lessrs. Garrels,

Borner and Company formerly had trade relations, but he is not

entitled to use the trade marks of that firm or act as if the

goodwill had been assigned to him.

It was know at the time of r. Worcester's

appointment as liquidator that he and Mr. Schröter had married

sisters.
